Default Contender Parts Dept Thanks

First, let me say that I think Contender makes an awesome boat, so much so that I recently purchased my second Contender (not new, but new to me). The customer service person (Jordan) has been awesome to deal with and answered every question I had and provided additional information on my 2007 boat. From the customer service standpoint I could not ask for a better response from the Contender representative. Now to the issue at hand, I’ve called three times to order a $20 quick connect hose barb and have never reached the parts department (the name I was given is Robert). I’ve left voice messages and actual messages with the receptionist with the part number and my contact information over the last 10 days and have yet to receive a follow up phone call.
Contender…..if you’re out there, please contact me a loyal customer, to resolve this issue.
Thank you.

The part you are seeking seems far from proprietary to Contender. Try contacting an establishment (dealership perhaps?) who's primary line of business is parts, not manufacturing.

MIght be worth having a look at boatoutfitters.com they seem to have an amazing selection of OEM parts. They have great customer service too.

Send an email to les stewart jr.

He will get you taken care of.

Contenders parts department has been horrible for a long time. Apparently Robert is who replaced Sergio who was the worst ever.

Not the response that I have received from their main office. I have called numerous times for different tech support issues on my 2008 21 Contender. I have emailed them, also. I have NEVER received a response. The only help I have received, is from their Northeast Rep (I have his contact info) who has been more then helpful with my issues. The guys responds with every call I have made with him.

there was a thread on here where a guy did a conversion to get rid of the quick connect. It was really slick.

Please shoot me an email at Jordan@contenderboats.com or give me a call 305-230-1600 and I will get you taken care of with parts. I'm sorry things have been a little crazy around here with Miami Boat Show but I would be happy to help in any way possible.

I must be getting old and cranky. Sound like a bunch of cry babies. Part must be available at a dozen sources. Calling the manufacturing plant for a boat you didn't buy from them.

Not cranky...your spot on. What some people may not realize, is that once you post on the internet---its stays there for a very long time. Why not start off with posting what your looking for BEFORE saying WTF. Many would have said---C'mon Man...that fitting can be found at a bunch of places for pennies. Today's world can be so impatient -- I'm sure there's a Contender App for that? If I need something for my Contender----and trust me I know all of them at Contender (Robert, Surguey) and have needed allot, my first stop is to search on the net for it. Then, ask people in the business of repairing and have experience with repairing Contender boats. Then, ask some people on here. Then, maybe if its something really, really hard to find I'll email them and then call them. For the most part---the last one has happened only once.

Good point, however, not applicable. Most people have a dealer that they use to purchase a vehicle. They then go back to that dealer to get service and parts. Contender has switched dealers over the years, and the places where you may have bought the boat, no longer sell contenders, and are willing to help unless you pay them a premium for it. Hence where calling contender, who has a factory direct parts department comes into play. You cant call ford and order parts, you can with contender.

Additionally, many of the new dealers, who you likely did not buy the boat from, are not required to help old purchasers out, and unless they are doing some good will (low chance), they also do not want to help for free. So calling contender direct is the way to go, or in the alternative, post here looking for the part and find direct without a mark up through contender (recommended)

I have dealt directly with Contender for parts and information on a few occasions and have always received what I consider very good service.
