Default Life raft Storage

I have a 6 person Viking Life Raft. The directions say to keep dry but on a CC how dry is dry really? I mean there isn't a compartment on my boat that at 1 point or another I haven't found water.

Where do YOU store your life rafts. Currently I take mine off the boat and put it back on days I plan on going over the horizon.

I keep mine under the jump seat on my bridge deck. It's inside the enclosure. on the port side opposite the helm.

Keep mine in a large locked fishbox forward on my cc when I'm not on the boat. Put out on the deck forward when im offshore. Have to step around it occasionally, but it works and is easily accessible.

We bought a industrial plastic bag and put it inside and zip tied it closed. It goes in our forward in deck storage box.

We put ours in a large hatch in front of our 33TE World Cat.I use seadek on the floor,it keeps it off the floor about a 1/2". in case of water coming through. On our old World cat we kept it inside the console. What I did with that is built a small platform to keep it off the floor about 1".made out of marine plastic deck material.Never had a problem with either set up.Our raft is large a Viking Rescue you 8 person offshore.Capt.Mike

You might peek inside the valise. A lot of rafts are vac- packed inside a sealed clear bag.

Will check, do you guys leave the raft on board at all times or do you take it off and on?

I keep my on board at all times.I had it repacked in Sept. of this year. They opened and deployed it for me.Mine(viking) did have a large foil bag covering the raft. You can see it on the right on the floor.Capt. Mike

On my Venture 34 I keep mine on the T-top in cradle (but it was a canister life raft).
If I owned a valise style liferaft I would have kept it in one of the forward bow fishboxes. They were huge and seemed to be the driest, and the Venture rides better with some weight in the bow.
