Me Ed is a boater and a dolphin lover. He can't stay out of the water if he sees one.

Agreed!

My standard poodle just took her second trip on a lake and it's definitely her thing. She has never been a great car traveller, but she's a happy girl on the boat. When she got to run loose on a little island and the shallows around it, she was triply thrilled.

Last May I came across a guy that was treading water on the edge of the Gulf Stream, no boat in sight. As I approached, I asked him where his dog was. He yelled that he didn't have a f,,,ing dog.

He should be up around Cape Cod by now.

I have enough trouble getting my old girl into my truck and I'd love to have her join us in the boat, but she prefers to stay home in my chair.......Name: IMG_2451.JPG

Default Dogs I love, people I tolerate.

Here are our girls - Rae is a Gordon Setter bred from champion field Gordons, and Cassidy - an unintentional breeding at a show dog breeder - her mom was an Irish Setter, dad a Gordon Setter.

To those who don't want a dog...

If you locked your wife/girlfriend in the trunk of your car for say 2 hours and your dog as well, then let them out, which do you think would be more than happy to see you ;?

A forum Moderator or admin may be able to add or change your poll questions. Just report/flag post number 1 with a note of what you'd like them to try changing.

Lol, at least the dog will still want to go home with you.

Nightly in the background (<RIP) and Clea.

I have 2 Boston Terriers who are obsessed with the water! I wont bring them on the boat because they turn into possessed maniacs and will go insane trying to jump off! So they stay home.

Dogs are just at their cutest when they're left alone all day to bark and annoy the neighbors. Dogs are probably OK, some dog people, not so much!

90% of the hours on our boat come from fishing trips - that is no place for a dog. Without asking, a fried showed up with his dog. When fish came on board, the dog would go nuts. Slimy deck + thrashing fish + multiple treble hooks + over-excited dog = potential bad situation.

"No Dog" rule now for everyone that comes on board.
Same here. I have two medium sized mutts, and it's just not relaxing having to worry about hooks when they're on board. Plus my boat is only 18'.

They love the lake, though:
