Default 37 to 42 Center Console purchase

Hey Guys,
I'm back into the market for a new boat. It has been years so a lot of things have change. Now that I am back living near the coast I am shopping for a large center console. I have been looking in the range of 37 to 42 footer. I have kinda narrowed it down to the Yellowfin 39 or 42 OR the Intrepid 400 center console. Any thoughts from owner or people that have indepth knowledge of these boats? Thanks

Look at the 41' Seahunter it's a beast of a boat

If it came down to the yf or intrepid, I would get the 39' YellowFin

Thanks for the information on the Seahunter. I had looked at them also but to many things I did not like. I think the build of the boat is pretty dam solid and maybe one of the strongest. However, the boat for me just looks to cookie cutter, to squared off, just lacking, lacking class. Plus, I did not like how the switch on the dash are to tucked away, I had to bend over and look up and try to figure out what I was turning on and off.

The switches can be moved, the 41' has them below now where SeaVee places them.

Nothing can be done about the looks that's personal.

The 39 Yellowfin is badass

Better add Bahama 41 to your list. It's an absolutely sick boat and I think you will find it better finished than the YF and equal or better than the intrepid.

I looked at a lot of boats in the same range including the 45 SH. Like any "tool" you need to define how you are going to use it. I bought the 42 YF because it has amenities that suit they type of fishing I do. If you have any specific questions about the 42 fire away.

Don't buy until you ride, preferably in some sort of sea. I rode 39 yellowfin and 41' Bahama the same day and ride was night and day. Bahama has best finish work of any, but rode hard like my old Jupiter. I ended with 36 yellowfin for other reasons and couldn't be happier. Just sold for less than 10% depreciation after 3 years and 700 hours. Ordering another. Ride them all then you'll know what you like best.

What do you all think about the 42 Hydra-sport custom. They seem like they have stepped up their game.

I think they are nice looking but looks like a cruiser instead of a hardcore fishing boat. Too many options or pretty boy stuff that would break. It all depends on what you need or want.

What will you use the boat for? If it is anything other than hardcore fishing, then Intrepid.

39 freaking yellowfin! There isn't a center console I've been on that performs like a yellowfin when it gets rough. Selling my 36 on sept 1, I know what I'll be getting next. Got to climb all over the 39 when I was I'm Sarasota for work and must say, I fell in love. Good luck!

If it were me, I would scratch off SH and Intrepid, and hydrasport, add invincible, contender, seavee, and freeman. Within your criteria I would look 39 yf, 42 yf, 39st contender, 37 freeman, 42 invincible, 390 seavee, and add 36 invincible even though it's not 37 feet.

^^^ This guy has it right and I'd probably add the 392 nortech in there as well. But for me the Freeman 37 would be at the front of that list. Don't knock it till you ride in one
