Default Sharp Upgrade for Your Trailer

Bought a box of 14" wheel covers at local discount store (big blue one) for < $20. Snapped them into place in about 2 minutes. It adds a nice touch.

A touch of corrosion if you don't keep them clean...

Looks nice, but it makes it tough to feel the hubs for excess heat and adds an extra step in the rinsing process.

Looks great. Tried that many years ago. The problem is that mine keep popping off and I would lose one and feel I had to replace it. This went on for a year or so until I could no longer get a match. Finally, they were all gone. Good luck. NOTHINGS PERFECT!

And they'll keep you from losing your bearing protectors!

Hey there Jesus. Do they help retain your lug nuts when they come loose?

That's a good way to scuff the galvanizing and allow rust to work its way under the protective layer.

They don't look bad, but if that's the look you want, go to the local small tire repair place and buy a set of used alloys. They are lighter and look better. Granted, they will cost you a little bit more too.

I think a set of covers would look better than the galv wheels.. Would need to be able to shoot my little laser thermometer through a spot to do my bearing temp checks.

You guys would be all hot for'em if they had your brand of boat on them. Tell me Mumbler wouldn't have a set if Whaler offered'em???
Tireless (and I) might get gold ones with spinners for the Fountain..
Or Glen, if they made'em with Verado on'em, he'd go buy a trailer just to get them

Just kiddin guys....

My trailer came from the factory with galvanized wheels painted white. Paint won't stick to galvanized metal very well. Once I began washing the wheels the paint began to flake off. I bought a spare tire and wheel and it came galvanized but unpainted. Later I bought another to replace a damaged tire and it is also galvanized but unpainted. Now I have two unpainted galvanized wheels and two with flaking white paint.

At least it helps me to keep track of which is which!

Good luck,
