Default Looking for Any Info on Shamrock Records

Hello,

I am hoping I might ask the masses here for some help.

I document vessels for the CG and I have a client buying a boat that has never been documented. He is having it documented and I am in need of a builder's certificate.

Everywhere I look (even on this forum) I am seeing things like the company is no longer in business.

My question would be...Is there another builder out there building these boats from the molds, and if so has anyone heard of where the records might have gone when they dissolved the business?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Amanda

I would contact Rampage Yachts. They were a sister company to Shamrock and may be able to assist you with a builders cert.

You might see if you can get in contact with Bo Palmer of http://www.defianceboats.com/ he was the last owner of the Shamrock molds

There is a lot of sour history as he received a grant from the State of NC to build boats in NC but due to economic downturn he went under. Some of the molds went out west and are used for Defiance boats, some destroyed some sold off.

Good luck there were a number of boats that were snapped up at the end of the run by dealers and not sold for years. This was like 07 or 08.

Yea...

This is what I was afraid of.

Here in Maine it's sort of easy to get a BC. Sometimes I have to turn into a PI to get info on the boat builder's here...but it's cases like this that are frustrating.

Thanks for all the helpful info!
