You really should start another thread about this "issue".

If I had waited until the last minute to spec the engine, I may have been able to get the g2. As I said, I am not angry at BRP. I made a decision and I have to live with it. BRP never promised me that I could redo the order. And, who knows what will be out there in 4 years or what improvements on the g2 will have been made.

IMO, they have credibility enough issues already due to the fact that the market right now DOES prefer 4 strokers, as to deny a customer his desire to change engines to latest version, IMO they should be ultra flexible with any potential or already customer, considering they will be trying to penetrate a market which do not highly regards 2 strokers and their inherent reliability issues, and their claimed prices are too high if they have any plans to regain the market lost to 4 s, for those prices, I would for sure opt for a strong, reliable, known for a long time durable technology ....... Suzuki.

Is the issue you cant switch, or that you can't switch now because the motor won't be available until after the fall shows?
