Default Amaracat 25

I had a chance to fish on the new 25 Ameracat when Steve and Scott brought it to Venice. This is a very nice boat, in a size range that will fit a lot of serious anglers. It's a single outboard setup on a modified Catamaran hull. Basically a section is moved from each front sponson and relocated to the center rear to create a short sponson for the engine mount. It is done in such a way as to get clean water to the prop. Steve could tell you more about it, I just had one look at it while loading on the trailer. And believe me it works. We had it out in some short nasty chop in West Delta and I never heard the prop ventilate. The boat handled the short 2 footers (occasional 3s) with ease at about 35 mph. Any v-hull bay boat would have beat us half to death at that speed in those conditions. We Snapper fished at a few structures and with 4 guys aboard it never felt crowded. Typical of cats this boat has great deck space. Fish storage was plenty good for 4 fisherman. It does not have the high gunnells of the bigger Ameracats which makes it a much better bay fishing boat. The boat is a very capable and safe fishing platform and I would not be concerned about taking it offshore in decent conditions. I wouldn't want to be out in 5 footers but the boat could handle it. In true Ameracat form, it is unsinkable. All in all this is probably the most versatile boat I have ever fished on. Disclaimer: I dont work for Ameracat, but I do like there boats.

Just a demo from my understanding, someone probably does own it. I dont think it was anyone from the area. Besides, Steve and Scott will take any excuse to go fishing in Venice.
