Default Which Boat Would You Keep? Mako or Whaler...

Don't tell me to sell both and buy something new, i'm a classic guy. I plan to sell one to re-power/upgrade the other. I love both these boats, but can't decide which one to keep. I do inshore and offshore when the weather is good for wreck or rockfish trolling.

1985 Mako 254 or 1984 Outrage 22'

If there is nothing wrong inherently with the structure of either boat, then keep the Mako.

Both boats are structurally sound. I replaced the tank in the Mako 2 years ago, the whaler will be due sooner or later.

You guys are making feel better about letting the whaler go.

Whaler. Properly maintained/restored it will have a stronger resale market...

Coming from someone who has owned several Whalers, KEEP THE MAKO.

Whalers especially of that era ride terribly- they pound the crap out of you. Makos on the other hand ride very nicely.

No brainier. KEEP THE MAKO AND SAVE YOUR BACK

You shouldn't be forced to make decisions like this in life. I'd keep the Whaler. Properly maintained, it will hold up better over time and likely have a better resale value. THT is not a Whaler friendly site though.
