Tidewater 2200 Carolina Bay info

Does anyone have this boat? Or maybe experience with them?

I'm looking at them and would appreciate any feedback as they compare to the Sea hunt bx 22 or key west 210-230 bay reefs.

96 views and no comments, now I know why there's not much info on this model through the search function

I thought they were more popular :o

I have fished the 22 that a friend owns. It has to be one of the most "bang for the buck" boats out there. It rode nicely in a small chop.

The extra wide round deck is a unique look, I guess it's a love or hate it for most. Looks like it will be a dry ride and the Yamaha performance bulletin with the 250 is 60 mph!

The 22 that I was on had a 200 E-Tec small block and it was not underpowered. I would think a 250 hp would be fun fast.

Tidewater 2200 carolina bay is a STUD!

I recently had the pleasure of riding in a 2200. I think that may be the best riding bay boat I have ever been in. the 2200 I was on, was paired with the new Yamaha 200. Didn't lack for power and over all a pretty good match.

Thanks guys. I'm looking at a nicely set up 2013 with the 250 yamaha fourstroke. It's a beautiful boat and each time I look at it I have a little different opinion of the wide round front.

if you are shopping prices, the guys at marine 360(in Chapin SC, 10 miles from tidewater plant)seem to be willing to deal the most. That is where I rode on the 2200.

I have one of these that I have used for almost 2 years and am looking to sell it. The boat is rigged to the max with approximately $15,000 worth of electronics, chargers and down riggers as well as a custom Ameritrail trailer. http://www.thehulltruth.com/boats-sa...-2200-bay.html

They are extremely popular in the Carolina's. Just sold my 2012 with a 3.3 liter Yamaha F250XA on it.Time to plane about 3 seconds, top speed with a Yamaha Saltwater Series II SDS 21" 57 mph. Absolutely loved the boat, in fact just finished the 10 hour break in on one of the first 2015 2200 Carolina Bays with a Yamaha 250XCA. Put the factory hard top on it and the new (for 2015) fiberglass leaning post with built in 25 gal livewell (also available with sink and fresh water). Put a Seastar systems jackplate on it which sets the engine back about 6"......setback made a hugely dramatic difference in performance and handling. Boat runs 58mph at 6,000 rpm (Yamaha Saltwater Series II SDS 19" * lower pitch prop because of different gear ration in the XCA). Time to plane, just under 3 seconds. 4.2 mpg at 38mph. Extremely happy with the new boat. Glad I went back with the same hull. Tidewater is installing Fusion stereo at factory, they are fine but their speakers don't hold up and don't sound that great, so I install an Infiniti with Infiniti speakers and it sounds awesome. Put the Garmin 70s on it with a through hull transducer and am also extremely pleased with the Garmin. Adding a 12' Talon and she is done.

Joy Lee, that wide round front is a "Carolina Flare" :-) and it makes her a very dry boat.

There is a Tidewater owners forum, very nice guys, great boats. Chat it up.
