Lake and Bay hull origin?

So after borrowing a trailer fit to a Concept 200 flats boat (came from a Lake and Bay) for my Paramount, it became apparent to me that these hulls share some heritage as the Paramount fit the trailer like a glove. I know the Paramount came from the 21' Action with some mods done to the pad and the first strake (the infamous hook) to give it a better ride, but the L n B looks to be truer to the Action bottom. Look at the running surface in the pictures below, the strakes look identical and the setback and pad look very similar to the Action, comments?

The lake and bay came from the back country hull than developed to the Boca grande hull and into the Back Water.

Joey - I'm thinking that if you talked to Tommy @ Manta he would know the old stories of whose hull begat whose hull, begat whose hull again. He has been part of that Hollywood warehouse crowd since way back in the day. Back to at least 1980 that I can remember. It would be interesting to know.

Not saying they are identical, but the running surfaces of both hulls appear to have some common lineage, the way the strakes were designed and their flow across the hull look very similar, and that setback design and pad are very similar to the 21 Action. Where did the BC originate from?

Where did the BC hull come from, is a good question.
The more I keep looking at the strakes of the Paramont it is very similar to the Back Water series by Lab.

Larger pic of my Paramount running: my buddy has a L&B, we've looked over the bottoms together and they're nearly identical. When my kids grow a little bigger and I don't need the gunnel height of the Paramount, I could see myself in L&B.

The Lake & Bay hull came before the Back Country, I'm almost sure the Back Country was a splash of the original Lake & Bay hull with a hook added and a different cap. The oldest Lake & Bays I've heard of are from 1986-1987 and are still running around the upper keys. One of my buddy owns a 1988.
I've heard different stories about the origin of the Lake & Bay hull but I know the 21 Action falls somewhere in the story. Both hulls came from the mid to late 80's era. Not sure if one was the splash of the other.
Lake & Bay Boca, Lake & Bay Backwater, Back Country Proguide, 21 Action, 21 Paramount all share pretty much identical hulls.
I've heard many different stories so, please don't qoute me on the above.
I personally own a 2004 pocket hull with a 300XS and I will never get rid of it. Nothing compares to it. Currently running low 90's but, still some setup left in it.

Gene Dubois started Lake and bay back in 1985 in Jupiter. I think he sold the company 15 or so years later. Not sure where the original hull came from.
He built 2 different 21's for me in 1990 and 1992. L & B's were the Caddilac of flats boats in that period.
A friend has a 1993 - 21 that he bought new and we fish it frequently.
It still has the original 200 Merc efi with a zillion hours. Great boats.

The Lake & Bay hull and original owner (Gene Dubois) came before Back Country. Gene Dubois sold the company and the molds to the 20 Boca to Mike Whiticar somtime in the late 90's. Mike Whiticar then sold the company to another Mike (not sure his last name) around 2007. The company went under in 2011-2012 I believe, and now Islamorada Boatworks (Islamarine is involved) owns the 22 bayboat mold (one has already been built) and I'm pretty sure the 24 bayboat mold as well as the 20 Boca molds. The redesigned 21 with euro style transom and different cap last I heard no one could find the mold. Not 100% on the timeline so if anyone has more info please correct me.
As far as who designed the Lake and Bay hull or what other hull was it designed from I'm not totally sure. I've heard different stories on this.

I went to pick the boat up from its 200hr service the other day and started bs'ing about the intrepid flats boat they were putting a new gas tank in. He started telling me about another customers lake and bay with a 350 that runs 90 before you have to back down because of chine walk. The sheriff here in naples has a l&b bay boat with a 300 on it.
