We're passing through charlston as of 4am est and continuing to hilton head. We will give details about pickling engines later. For those that say I'm not telling all about spill incident if I was trying to hide something I wouldn't give you the news station info to find story on it , and remember I'm a builder who's customer the owner has there rights to privacy it's not my place to talk about spill. Also if I knew why she went down I wouldn't be shy to tell remember I'm just the builder not the owner. I have all my 7 barrels back in the cockpit and my saddle tanks the only thing different Is I don't have the props on board any more. She has been going now with no signs of water movement for over three days. Yes my turbos are off and exhaust was open but they were to high to allow water to breach until lack of care for vessel kicked in. If you want the best answer I never should have left her to another crew in the c and d canal in the first place. I am trying to get her home for now but when I get there were going to have a full survey done again actually be able to test our questionable areas in a safe marina while in slings. Yes she went down fast when she went but how long was she taking on water prior to that. Without a mass source of water intrusion that just doesn't happen and as I said I have all fuel barrels and tanks back in place and she's not taking on water do the math. As for now were just trying to get this journey over and completed safe and sound. We should be rolling through ga on Monday as long as everything is well. We appreciate all the support and good wishes from everyone and we will get some pics up tomorrow for you.

NEMS,
Thanks for the updates and your candor. I have been following the thread closely and with interest as I often shuttle broken boats to be repaired and understand that you have to be Mcguyver to keep them going. This has been the most interesting thread in a long time.
Please keep the updates coming.

X2 to all of that.....and I like too that this guy is real....keeping us in the loop on the story, telling the "no sense of humor" whiners to get over it and the "they must be hiding something" conspiracy nuts to chill in the process. ROCK ON NEMS!

Thanks for the updates NEMS, looking forward to seeing that beast brought back to life. Please make sure to post the progress of the re-build. I guarantee you that you'll gain fans-possibly make it a marketing piece. Turn those lemons into lemonade, man!!!

I'm a fan and new reader though I've been a member for a while. This thread has me coming back to check on the progress. My kids are reading along too. Whatever her name ends up being I'm sure it'll reflect the owners obvious sense of humor. I love humor and love jackin with people that don't.
Godspeed NEMS and please more pics, especially the refit, very interesting!

friends of mine had pictures as she steamed north towards the C+D canal, now it makes sense why the boat was headed north to go south!

^^^ My thoughts exactly. The re-build thread for this would be awesome and definitely pretty cheap considering the returns it could bring.
