I voted in the poll, but I am really rooting for these guys. The poll isn't to make fun of these guys, just have a sense of humor about it. If you can't have a laugh about something then your life has to suck. If it was me I would be on the ground laughing my head off

Now, about the very few naysayers who have been openly critical - that's another story....but again, this is a message board. Is anyone surprised when a little humor ,sarcasm, and even trollish negativity seaps in. This is what happens on the net....

Yep, no doubt........Just that the sarcasm seems to have killed the thread.

Why, because we keep following it? In my case it is because I keep hoping that NEMS will be back with more facts and a follow up.

No, becuase most of the posts were about the other side issues....I mean, only NEMS can give an update....so there's nothing wrong with keeping some side chatter going while we await the updates. NEMS is too busy to update us every 30 minutes.....

And obviously, about 98% of the posters are pulling for NEMs....that ain't a bad batting average on a message board. And even the naysayers, who I disagree with, have a right to their opinion. This is, after all, a message board.

A privare Facebook page could be set up if folks don't want outside opinon. That would be fine too IMO.

Ditto. How can you raise a boat from the bottom after 2 months and then get bent out of shape if someone says something about it being sunk? It's not like the poll is making fun of their ill child. Lighten up. The forum is for use by all. Not just those uptight about a name poll.

Had the person built the boat by hand for 10 years and It sunk on its 2 night on the water. Then yes. It may be kicking a man while they are down.

These folks are refurbing someone else's salvaged boat that belonged to yet another person who chose not to move it out of the way of a monster hurricane. I fail to see how the poll is in poor taste. Especially since Double Down would be a great name. And it appears most agree

All well said sir...and on Double Down...a fabulous name - that would be staring adversity in the eye....no, it would be spitting in the eye of adversity....and rising from incredible problems to ultimate victory. It would be a great name, make for great "docktail" stories for the rest of the boat's life, and be a testament to the will and talents of those who would not give up.

And if we can have a laugh along the way while cheering them on, I'm all for it.

Nems is back onboard and is probably the best mechaniac in the business.
he is way ahead in knowledege even more than the salvage divers.
i believe we will see this boat traveling the inter coastal on a sight seeing tour when all is fixed and finished.

would be fun to see all the support Double Down will gather on the way up.

This thread shows that there are two kinds of people in this world:
Those that can take a joke, and those that can go #$@* themselves.
The names rule...THT rules.

Very sorry I've been keeping you waiting but this past week has been hell. Myself nor the surveyors could find any signs of water intrusion any where in the hull. I am still very curious as to why she went down and will not stop until I have an answer. She was refloated on Tuesday by tow boat and after all residual water was sucked from bildges there were no signs of water movement. We finally passed our coast gaurd inspection 1st time today around 3 pm est and we were finally released from the dock. Look on wfmb news from myrtle beach if you want more details of sinking and refloating. Long story short we put alot of fuel and oil in the water and it wasn't pretty at all. We had OSRO on scene for 5 days cleaning the water and decontaminating the boat and all the spectators you could dream of having. Also by the way myself and the owners of wanderer love the name poll it gives us a laugh here and there which is very much needed in a time like this. Keep them coming we don't mind a bit. The owners like double down themselves. We have her cleaned her and got the engines running again, all systems back together. We're going to stop in George Town tonight and get fuel then off again. Couldn't have asked for more were underway again boys and girls we will update day by day for a Lil while
