Keep rolling! Sounds like you're doing great!
So.... What props are you running? Are the engines fixed or integrated with the steering? were you able to hook up an auto pilot or do your guys have to man the helm all day? Can we get a pic of the bridge etc? How are the gauges set up on the old OX66s? I'm pulling for the rebuild side and know that it can be done. Do you really cook burgers up there on the bridge!?
so many questions, so little time!!

What year is this boat and what did they do to the holes to get it ready for the trip?

Gotta love this site. Even with the damn 520 Errors. lol

Honestly one of the more interesting threads. I think its great to actually be able to hear from the crew on the boat. Very exciting. Its also crazy that we can see the journey unfold on here. The boat is like a THT celeb.

Where is your sense of adventure, where is your imagination!

Who said you cant fix balsa core thats the craziest thing anyone could ever say- you REPLACE it, and there you have it- repaired.

I love that the man in charge posted an update, I had seen this thread title for a day or so and thought it was some kind of joke thread this is like being a kid and waiting for Santa to show up.

This thread could go down in history if we get regular updates on the voyage and rebuild (with lots of pics)!!

Speaking of that, what is up with the two tone hulls (sorry if this is covered in earlier posts...I've followed the thread but have not read every single post...)

Probably because they had to patch all the holes on the side.

We will give updates on Monday were having problems uploading pictures but will get them on here for you guys. We appreciate all the good comments and thoughts along the way and remember anything can be done when great minds collide to build a boat together. At NEMS Boatworks we strive to make any owners dreams come true even when people say it can't be done. We were told by locals at hoffmans marina as they stopped by and checked out build that we wouldn't finish for a year or two, As we proved to everyone in jersey that we had it in a floating condition after five weeks of glass and core work was completed. It's so great to see this turn around for the old girl after so many gave up on her. She is the number 1 65' Viking built and was severely damaged in sandy with 3 breaches and not small ones either. The owner is refitting her back to original condition if not better when she gets to Florida. We will answer any questions on Tuesday so keep em coming. Just for S&G yes we are cooking steaks and all sorts of things on the grills only underway and its a magma boys remember nothing drops from them and they seal while cooking. All fuel is in open area and the fumes are not bad at all yet they can barely ever be smelled. We were sketchy of cooking over the fuel for the first two days until I got tired of cooking on the stove.
