Question Determing Boat Value? 2003 Regal 2120

Trying to determine a boat's fair market value before putting it on the market ... but in this case, I'm finding a HUGE variance in price on the Internet and can't figure out why.

My boss has a 2003 Regal 2120 with a Volvo 5.0 motor (220 HP) with less than 80 hours. It's been kept on a lift. Last year the motor was redone with new manifolds and risers, new starter, new water pump, etc. the throttle and shift control are new batteries are new as well. The boat was fully detailed about 6 months ago, and is looking sharp.

But what's it worth? I'm finding as low as $12k, and upwards of $28k. Doesn't seem right?

Thoughts? He's asking me for advice on selling it, and being the boss I want to answer but am not sure what's its value is!

The Kelly Blue Book site bases their valuations on the amount a loan company would loan -- and they are really "conservative", let's say. (I could say stupidly low, but I won't...). My "loaded" '93 Proline 2950 shows a retail of $25,000, which is the max that I could find a loan for. I'd be if I offered it for sale at $25 K, it would last about 30 minutes on the market.

(Full modern electronics, outriggers, etc, etc, -- and Twin Volvo Penta Turbo Diesels...)

I'd recommend watching the boat sales websites (Boat Trader, etc.), to get a feel for the range of values. Not much help, but ...
And I would price it near the top of the $ range -- easier to slide down a pole than to climb it.

Thanks guys. I figured it's between 16-17k based on what I could find in sales, and NADA values. Should be enough for him to go by ...
