WOW!

Seems hard to believe that you all are still bundled up round those parts..

Bet some of the owners would pay GOOD money for some of the pics of their boats with the whales... very nice.

thanks everybody! i had two cameras with me, a nikon d5100 and a d600. most of the pics ended up coming from the d5100 with a nikon 70-200 f.28 on it.

Fantastic pictures! All the more impressive you were able to keep focus with a long zoom on a moving platform. Your composition is good too. Cropped and zoomed on a computer?

Tuna, they spot them from the tower (or a plane) and the guy on the bow sticks one if he gets lucky.

thanks! i was actually joking about this with some of the capt's. i could quit my day job and take fishing boat pics for cash. but i am sure that business would lead to bankruptcy due to the YF gas bill. ha.

I saw and photographed a lot whales, seals etc when I lived there but your pictures are by far the best I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing and I hope your posts continue.
