I don't know what happened yet. We were on the third day of a three day trip with the generator working perfectly whenever needed. Got up Saturday morning to make coffee, flipped on the generator, and within 10 minutes or so we could smell that tell tale "electrical" smell - I looked aft and saw white smoke coming out of the stern vent. I immediately shut the generator down, then felt the lazzarette hatch and determined it was not hot. With that and no black smoke I figured I could open the hatch, so I did that with fire extinguisher in hand. White smoke was coming out of the generator vents, so I knew that was where the problem was. I opened the emergency fire port in the generator housing and stuck my big extinguisher in there and emptied it. The smoke quickly dissipated. After an hour or so of watching everything, I started the motors (300 Verados) and watched things some more. Everything else was working perfectly, so I drove home - about 75 miles.

The generator will not run longer than 15 seconds or so without a water supply, so unless the "fail safe" on that failed, I know I had cooling water. Plus I checked after the fact and the strainer was clear and full of water. I'm waiting now for generator reps to inspect things and tell me what went wrong. The generator had only 50 hours on it - basically brand new - and had worked well prior to this.

Lessons: Make sure your fire extinguishers are ready to use and that you have more than one, no matter what size boat you have. And if you use a generator make sure you know where your fire extinguisher port is!

decided to throw the used stator, timing and gear counting sensors on the engine while I wait for the flywheel to arrive...eta Friday...just as i'm buttoning up the stator fed ex rolls up 2 days early and the driver hands me the box full of a rare flywheel....a few minutes later we're back in action and running better than ever...judging by the quick start up and smoother running I would guess the original stator may have been a little out of spec before the flywheel magnet committed a suicide/murder with it...looking forward to splashing it again and seeing what I can blow up this time..

I replaced the two thermostat in my second engine. And boy did they need it. Replaced one of the brackets that hold my oil tanks for my Yamaha. Still have to replace two more filters on both engines. Then I think I'm done with working on the boat for a while.

Still have to wired for electric reels. Shhhhhhh don't tell the misses.

Pulled both cowlings off and brought them home. Dropping them off on Monday morning to be completely refinished with new decals. Can't wait for this to be done.

Spent 3 hours cleaning bottom paint sanding residue because a POS DOUCHEBAG didn't encapsulate his boat when power sanding.

Thanks for the extra work scumbag.

No it don't. I was going to sell my boat but decided to keep it a few more years. Now I am looking a boat cover instead of my heavy duty tarp. LOL

I installed my electronics that i removed from my old boat and put them on my new boat

Simrad go7
Totalscan transducer
Marine radio
Marine stereo

There was no existing wiring so i had to run all new wires for the stereo and marine radio

I also troubleshooted my aft courtey light and horn. Both appliances need replacing. They both get 12.4v

And i patched some old holes drilled into the console with the west system

I have some more to do today like troubleshoot my livewell

Default Added a new sound system to our Larson 330 Cabrio.

Took out the old head unit and added this Pioneer. Used the black Plexiglas to cover the old hole that the old head unit. Thought it turned out pretty good. Sorry, the pic is sideways. Wasn't sure how to rotate it.
