The back was laying on the cooler, it was not on the chair.

Reckon that fish was a little green?

That marlin deserves to live after that move...hopefully he lived to breed and share it genetics, moving black marlin fishing to the "extreme sport" category. Makes me wonder what a situation like that would be like with the more common mako shark. What would happen of this guy
would end up landing on a boat

One of the Kennedy boys out of Mobile, not sure if it was Mark or his brother, had a shark get in the boat years ago. I think it was either fly gaffed or roped. It started rolling and rolled right up the rope into the boat if I recall correctly. May have been a mako.

He had a very severe bite, almost lost the leg I think. Had trouble getting the damn thing to let go. This happened 20 or so years ago so some of this is probably a little off.

They fish the king fish circuit now.

Another marlin incident impaled a young man in the back of the throat:
Probably would have gone right through if the fish hadn't hit the transom at that moment.

Awsome video action. I've never fished for anything on a boat like that. Is it just me, or did the skipper's backing down with water coming over the transom scare you a bit?
