Nice looking boat.

Default 1 yr Update

A little past 1 year but close enough. Any minor issues that came up(as with any new boat) were taken care of by Ameracat with no problems. Steve, Scott, Rick & Ricky all took care of us when anything came up.

We only have 98 hrs on boat but got to fish many more weekends than with our last v- hull.
We mostly have fished the GOM and this boat is great in the Gulf chop. Some of our runs for Red Grouper are 70 mile each way and can run at 30mph in a 2 to 3' chop without getting yelled at to slow down by the wife.

With 4 people, full tank of gas and loaded for fishing we average over 2 mpg on every trip. (calculated at pump & GPS)

The new Merc 150's are great. We did have an alternator go bad 55 mile off of Crystal River on the port motor but switched the batteries to parallel and the starboard motor kept them both charged and got back in with no problems. Also the port motor was hard shifting into neutral when docking. Thanks to M&M Marine Services in Ft Pierce they knew the problem was a simple software fix for the shifting and also changed the alternator under warranty. I won't go into details but they went way out of their way to help us out. I highly recommend M&M Marine Services for their quality work.

So far were very happy with the boat and plan on keeping it for some time or until we upgrade to their 31'

We need some more pictures. Have you upgraded anything? or found short comings or surprising advantages on your Ameracat?

Did you look at the Calcutta before you bought your Ameracat?

almost 275 h on my merc 300s with the 31. Glad to hear youre getting some good use out of the boat. I'll have to agree about the guys at Ameracat. Theyve been good to me when any little stuff has come up.

All pics are still the same. No upgrades as of now. No short comings and the advantage would be the good ride in the GOM.
Only looked at the Calcutta on paper. Did not like the fold down transom and the lower gunnels. I felt the Ameracat was more of an offshore boat that we wanted. I'm not saying either boat is better but the Ameracat fit our needs better.

Two years have passed since this comment.... ;? How is that helicopter setup doing for that new high quality video ???? Don't take this the wrong way - please get a better phone so when you record little videos with it you end up with higher grade videos too.... I've been following Ameracat since 2010, I'm yet to pull the trigger on a 27' - high quality videos would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the new 27's have 150's on them but they leave right away and I haven't been able to run them much. I'm trying to get the helicopter set up for some new high quality videos. I wasn't aware that anyone has ever proven you wrong. LOL

You know they will give you a real live demo ride that will beat the check out of any HD video.
