Default Boat full of chit

Due to steering issues I did not get my holding tank pumped before pulling the boat. It will be sometime before it will be back in the water. Any ideas on how to get the stuff out without hand pumping it on the ground/in a bucket? With the sun hitting it there is a delicate array of aromas courtesy of an over night trip and multiple occasions of dropping off the kids.

On a trailer? Any campgrounds around with a pump out station?

That was an appropriate video!

There is a rest stop nearby with pump out but it is the RV kind. Not sure how that would work.

I bit the bullet and pumped out about 10 gallons into a bucket. Added water and clorox and pumped it out. The funny thing is that the wife was nearby and complained about the smell. I told her it was her chit not mine. "Is that supposed to make it smell better?" she said.

The bad thing is we tried to pump it out off shore with no results. Come to find out the valve was turned the wrong way because it is marked wrong, or at least in my mind it was. I guess you chit and learn.

You should be able to do it easily at an RV pump out station, depending where you're located you might find them in rest areas on the highway or at campgrounds. I wouldn't recommend just pumping it onto the ground as you'll regret that most likely, worst put it in a bucket and flush it....

There's companies that will bring a truck and pump it out for you for a fee. They deal mostly in RV's, but at least this way you don't have to worry about the mess.

Yep. Just remember to stop sucking on the siphon hose before the liquid flows!

You should check out some of the local ramps too. Around here a few of the ramps have pump stations to empty the tank once you pull the boat out of the water.

I was 60 miles off shore when we tried to pump it out.

No macerator, manual lever pump. Next time I will put a kid in the boat, after dark, and ride by neighbors' I dislike.

Edit to add: As stated above I pumped it into 2 gallon buckets and flushed it in the basement commode. Stunk up the whole house, but in a good way.
