Default Which brand is better? Sea Pro, Sea Fox, Sea Hunt, Sailfish

Starting to do a little boat shopping and just curious out of the brands what order to you think would rank best to worst. It would be a 20-23 center console with a single 150-250 4 stroke.

Sea Pro
Sea Fox
Sea Hunt
Sailfish

Thanks, if I had the $ I would be looking at regulator and contender. I don't so I am in this catagory. I have never owned any of these in the past and have never even been on one but they seem to fit my budget with what I need. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also if you know of a comparable one please throw that into the mix. I would be looking at a 2002-2010 if that helps narrow it down. With a newer motor.

Sea Hunts are fine boats, as are Sailfish and Sea Pro. Older Sea Fox's are not good boats, but the newer ones have seen some impovements. All manufactures have bad runs of lower quality boats - we need to know what year you are talking about.

Oh no. But I'll bite.

Five years ago, I think most folks would say Sailfish out of that list.

I would say Sea Hunt has rallied to the top of the totem pole with Sailfish in most peoples' eyes of that list, with Sea Fox gaining cred rapidly the last 24 months IMO. I think Sea Pro has gone through some corporate changes (could be wrong) and might trail the others by smidge at this time.

Again, it's all perception. Sea Hunt is the "hottest" brand of those at the moment, but things change. My .02

To really narrow it down I would say it would be a 2006-2007. 21' With a 200 4 stroke with low hours. That puts it right about 20K give or take.

Interesting..Thanks for the links. First link looks interesting. Last two are out of my budget. My main concern is the motor. I am going to look into the first link. Not far from me either.

Default Good boats...

While all of these have their pro-cons, all I can say is I love my SF 220 XT.

Sea Pro stopped making boats in 08. 05-06 they were picked up by Brunswick, some improvments were made to some of the models, some were left the same - then they axed the brand.

The OP must be looking used.

Newer seafox is just about on par with all and even above a few IMO. Sailfish is not laid out very well and has limited space in the rear of the boat for fishing. Can't speak for Sea Hunt........ If possible I would try to seatrial all the brands.

Sailfish, Sea Hunt in that order particularly in the 21 foot range.... The 218 is a probably the most popular size for Sailfish (high sides, great ride etc). I am a Sailfish owner and probably biased.... I like Sea Hunts also thou... ride them, kick tires buy what is best for you...
