Default Zip Wax Car Wash

Just sharing here. I switched over lately to Zip Wax car wash for the boat.

Thoroughly happy. After using it a few times it seems like all the salt, fish guts, blood, and everything else comes off much easier now. The deck doesn't stain. Aluminum rinses off easier. Just all around good.

I had previously tried West Marine and Woody Wax soap. Zip has been better.

Must be the wax. At <5 bucks for 1/2 gal its a good deal.

Thought I'd throw that one out there.

I x2 the Zip Wax. Used it for years also. Leaves a nice water bead finish. Not sure about the vinegar, seems like the acetic acid would breakdown the wax. I'm not a chemist but thats a thought. I use it in a one gallon 50/50 sprayer to wash the salt off of the hubs and brakes after launching. So far , so good. Thanks to the older- than- me timers for the idea!!

Look at the car washes by chemical guys.....inexpensive, in gallons and gloss very well.....my favorite is their glossworkz wash. Another good one is meiguirs gold class wash. 1-2 oz of white vinegar Per 5 gal bucket cuts salt and water spots and does not cut wax.

Smoove works very well too.

I used Zip for four years on my previous boat and it worked well, plan to use on the new one.

I mix Zip Wax and Murphy Oil Soap. After pressure washing boat, spray the mix on and leave it. Boat shines and blood/guts easily wash off at the end of the day.

Isn't **** and Span basically TSP? That should take the wax off a candle. I wouldn't use that on a boat.

Mix it 50/50 with vinegar in a garden sprayer and set the dial to about 2oz/gallon. Salt will disappear.

how many use the stuff on your fishing gear? Is the acid (liquid soap) and wax good for lines and reels?

Guess it will now be called "Hispanic and Span", to be more politically correct?

I don't spray my rods, reels and electronics with but everything else gets coated.
