Contender, Thoughtfuly Desinged?
1 Attachment(s)
Maybe they spent too much on R&D for the bay boat and couldn't afford proofreading.

This is their full page ad on the inside cover of the Capt. Harry's catalog that came yesterday. I'm not trying to start a war, we all know that they make incredible fishing machines that truly are thoughtfully designed, I just thought it was funny.

Maybe they're coining a new term... desinged... I like it!

Back-in-Black 02-28-2012 09:18 AM

Yeah, but nothing compared to some of the creative spelling found on this forum daily!

rigrunner05 02-28-2012 09:19 AM

I was scanning a boat mfg. web site yesterday and they had a new 40' special addition. South Florida for you!

Back to the 'Thought' school.

Lot's of it has to do with the dumbing down of our kids and what they are supposed to know before they can graduate....

This thread should be shoved under the nose of any teacher/administrator who feels that a child should not "fail", or should be made to feel "less than" because they do not have the skills necessary to learn or pass a class. I contend that many of these kids are not being raised in the best of circumstances, but to pass them just to get them off the books will result in these sorts of things that we see regularly anymore...

Rant over....

no joke

Top_Cat 02-28-2012 09:56 AM

when I see "Yamaha" mispelled then I will be concerned, until then some phonetic spelling will do no harm to anyone :Q

That is a real shame. Baby Jesus and teachers everywhere are crying. If I were the CEO of Contender, I would be firing people and ad agencies. It is odd that they spelled the hardest word correctly.

floffshore 02-28-2012 10:18 AM

We have a local guy down here (great guy and mechanic, btw) that spells his company's name "Jamaha"... on purpose... pretty funny/clever, imho.

fishie1 02-28-2012 10:57 AM

The ones that are 'thoughtfully desinged' have a different warranty.

tomfl 02-28-2012 11:06 AM

Let's see..... the agency prior had full page ads plastered everywhere of contenders being "abused" by leaving the water. Shame on them.

Now this agency can't spell.

Jeez, what's the world coming to?

bluewaterpirate 02-28-2012 11:10 AM

Ya know ..... they gots som splaining to do

miike 02-28-2012 11:17 AM

Goalmon 02-28-2012 11:23 AM

Now that's thoughtful and meticulous:jk:

Even that doesn't cut the mustard here. We need to see the warranty for the "thoughtfuly desinged" model.

I'm guilty of a careless typo once in a while, but a two-page ad should be perfect and not have two glaring errors.
