Fair?
That way you wont demonstate your personal insults to me, and I no longer have a reason to say.........

BLESS YOUR HEART!

Isn't that a fair resolution?
This is hilarious Mike (on so many fronts!). Do you have some swampland for sale as well?? C'mon man . . . .

Default Mr. D

I had to give this some thought.
You've made some pretty slanderous remarks about me that I should just consider the source, maybe go running to the mods and say I've been insulted, or the like.
Fact is, after thought, I will remark some.

A drop of hard liquer has not toched my lips for well over twenty years.
Not even a glass of wine.
People I've known for up to forty years and more read this forum. Not a single one has ever seen me drink hard liquer, or even a beer at lunch. No one has ever seen me drunk, nor even drink a beer at a Fishing tournament, until late in the day when it's finished for the day.
No one has ever seen me drink a beer at a boat show, or during working hours even when a dealer I might be entertaing is.
An old industry friend and I had dinner togeather last week and some other industry friends were kidding me that we were probobly out of control. Well, over the years, yep, we've been out of control more than once. We had dinner which consisted of splitting a pitcher of Miller Lite.
I'm not a smart man like you and your pal, but I'm not stupid. I'm saying what I'm saying in public. If it was not the truth, that would certainly make me a stupid person, which I'm not
Now, I have somewhat of a speech impediment and the left side of my face has a slight distortition that's the result of an attack I suffered some years ago. Sometimes my speech might to some sound a little strange, particularily if it's face to face because I have some challange.
A few times over the last few years I've had some brain vs. motor difficulties that have caused me a fright now and then, but not related to to drink, nor any type of substance, perscription nor otherwise.

So, Not that I feel you desearve any explanation from me, but fact is you've said some pretty damaging things that if intended to piss me off, have succeeded in your wish.

I would very strongly suggest you consider treading very softly in the matter of personal attacks, on a public forum.

Derailing a thread is what you and your buddy are good at and is to be expected of both of you as dedicated trolls. The nature of what your saying in public about me personally, is another matter altogeather.

Now, you and Mr. Lincod (mis spelled intentionaly) both of you have a dandy day. Mr. D your time might be better spent selling your flagpoles and shilling for a boat company rather than on a thread that you nor your pal have had anything worthwhile to contribute to the subject.

BLESS YOUR HEARTS!

I'm sorry, I just don't see any slanderous remarks by Mr. D. So he brought up a boat he likes, that is very cool and very similiar to the Donzi in question. Big deal.

How many times has someone asked.. Which is better, a Contender or a Hydrasport? ... and someone says Yellowfin. Who cares.

I thought we were talking about boats here.

Lets get this back on track....

Take a look at a U-17 Four Winns, if you can find one. I was about to buy a Sweet 16 Donzi a couple years ago and a forum member recommended a U-17 instead (he owned both and liked the U-17 better). I loved mine but ended up selling it because all of a sudden my kids liked to go boating so I bought a larger play boat.

Good luck in your search both Sweet 16 and U-17 are awsome!!

This is what I posted on THT before buying the U-17
http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-...weet-16-a.html

This is the add I ran and sold mine in a couple days!! Plus a couple pics and youtube of the U-17 running.

Default Bought a Sweet 16

Flew to Las Vegas today and purchased a barely used 1990 Donzi Sweet 16.
Boat has less than 25 hours since new, only seen a couple of freshwater lakes in Oklahoma and Nevada.
Bought it from the original owner, he still had all the documentation, bill of sale, promotional materials, manuals etc. The books were still in their original plastic wrap.
The boat was covered and garaged, so the the paint and the upholstery are as new, just very dusty.
I had asked that they made no attempt to start the engine, so I bought the boat as is.
It has been over four years since it last ran, so I want to deal with the old gas, dirty tank, bad fuel lines, old filters, gummed carb, bad hoses and old battery before I attempt to start it.

The only damage that I have noticed so far, is a bent skeg on the sterndrive. It was a garage accident, something, most likely a car bumped into the skeg in the garage. It was not grounding damage, as there is no paint scratches on the skeg or the prop.

It is a OMC Cobra 4.3 6 cyl with stock sterndrive exhaust.

Has a great trailer, but I am going to put on new tires before the boat gets towed back to Texas. The existing tires are 22 years old and still have the little new tire tits on them.

I would like to thank everyone for the advice and encouragement in the previous posts.

I will post pics when the boat makes it to Texas.

No problem I will scan the manuals...one for the OMC and one for the boat.
Just PM your E Mail and I will send them to you as PDF's

Boat has been a ton of fun, I am really surprised how stable it is in sloppy water.

My top end is a little lower than I thought. I can barely break 50mph at about 5000rpm.

Tried a different prop...tuned the engine, just can't get the rpm's much above five.
