Here is the frame for the helm seats. I really like the way this came out. I think it will look and function great in the boat. And man these seats are comfortable. I always hated a leaning post.
The boat is still at the place getting steering squared away. Will be back mid week hoping to go on

Wow, you're a brave man -- hopefully it won't be too crazy out there.

Seats look great, and the height seems perfect. Will you be putting a cooler underneath?

Yeah that's kinda the plan. We will be taking the boat on a few test runs later this week. If all goes well we will be taking it 70 miles up the bat for a few days.
Now I just hope the props I have are going to work. I have a set of bravo 1 four blade 22p. Hoping they perform well, already got the hub kits..

Wow, finally got through reading all of this and man I must admit I admire the work you are doing on this beauty of a boat. Keep up the work, the finish line is in sight. You going to be sending the seat frames down to Sarasota for the Line-x treatment as well?

Thanks, I had the frame line-x done here locally on the seat frame. I still have not run the boat, found out both my trim tab pumps were locked up. So I had to order new pumps, suppose to get it back tomorrow. The steering is done, so the tabs are the only thing holding me up. I will be running the boat this weekend, come hell or high water!!

Ok. So I have ran the boat for 2 days so far! I had a issue with the port vst filter being clogged up, so I cleaned it all out and now she runs perfect. Now I have to get the props worked out. Right now I'm running bravo 1 4 blades. (Cause I had them on the boat before with 225 optimal). These motors need much more prop. It's way under propped. Right now it's running 5000rpms @ 35mph. So I think I'm going to try a set of 24 pitch and see what happens.

Ps- the seats are probably the best thing I did to this boat. I can now sit down and see over the dash while driving. Makes all the difference in the world!

Hey, that's great news! I was down by the JRB fishing all day yesterday and kept an eye out for a Fountain in case you were out. Great weather. We caught a cooler full of small croaker and had a nice fish fry.

So did the crap in the VST filter look like particles or gum/deposits? If it was particles make sure you keep an eye on the primary engine filter, since more crap may show up there that could also reach the VST. I am not as familiar with Suzuki's filter setup but normally a VST gets gummed up. If it has particles, that's a sure sign there is more crap upstream.

I am always surprised how big of a prop Suzukis run, but they have such a low gear ratio they need it. I bet if you can run the math based on the difference in gear ratios between the old motors and the Suzukis, it would tell you the equivalent pitch to get where you want (might save one round of trial and error).

Anyhow, great to see you got the boat out!

Coastal, contact Ken at Prop Gods. He is the man on props. Will save you a lot of time and worry.

Good luck - SH

Ok so I have figured out that I need a set of Suzuki 26p props. That's should push the boat to 67-68mph. I was told if I went with 28p she would run 71mph but may be a little sluggish low end. So I'm gonna put the 26's on it. I working on finishing up all the electronics, just installed the new furuno nxt radar. Plus one vhf antenna with the other waiting to be installed.
