Default 29' Blackfin fule saving tip

Sodablasted the bottom of my partners Blackfin, sprayed Interprotect tham Baltaplate sailboat racing bottom paint on last spring

Here are the results

Last year 3400 rpms 21 kts
This year 3050 rpms 24 kts!

The bottom had a slight slime on it in the fall... powerwashed off like new

It's all about reducing drag. That's why racing sailors are fanatic about a clean, fair hull and bottom. How much did you lose between the beginning and end of the season as the slime grew?

I also sprayed my barrier coat, and bottom paint.. I was going to use the same bottom paint as you guy's but I figured I had done enough work on the boat that season..

Did you burnish it???

What motors is he running???

Does your partner know about www.blackfinforums.com
