They were being truthful about flooding in the area. I live up in North East Pa and the entire area was a mess all last week and thru the weekend due to severe flooding. Hope you here something now that things are getting somewhat back to normal.

You probably won't get a return reciept before the 15th. Unless you sent the letter priority with expedited delivery, it'll take at least 3 business days to get there, and another 3 for the receipt to come back to you. Not that I think you are being unreasonable...with the flooding they proabably won't have a chance to respond by then.
Good luck in getting this resolved.

Today is the 16th and I just received the signed receipt that they indeed received my letter.

Due to the flooding I guess I could give them a couple extra days but the receipt says it was received by them on the 10th.

Move forward or wait a couple more days as a courtesy?

I hope the "audit" is not an imposed audit by the IRS or some sort of digruntled partner type of audit.
Could also be a prequil to change of ownership audit.

I called today they told me a check was put in the mail Monday by way of the US Mail service.

I haven't seen it yet but I am hopeful.

Default Update?

I'm curious as to the resolution of this. This is one of my local dealers and I wanted to know if they handled it as they said they would.

Thanks.

RECEIVED CHECK TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must say that at one point I was a little worried, but I now have a renewed faith that some people actually do the right thing. Check was for the correct amount, was dated when they said it was dated, as well as post marked when they said it was sent. Probably took longer than it should have but patience paid off...far more flies with honey than with a fly swatter.

Thank you Kevin and Jeremy at Towne Marine, I will continue to refer people to you.

I learned something reading this. You are a very very patient person. I think I saw your picture in Webster when researching the word. Glad it is resolved with a great outcome.

Good for you! Glad to hear it. Didn't like the odds but they came through. You are right about taking a courteous approach to things like this. Good job!

Glad to hear it. I had always heard good things here in Pa about Towne and have recommended them off that info. Your situation combined with the fact they seemingly overnight went from selling Sea Hunts and May-Crafts to Cobias and Tidewaters was kind of strange. As someone else posted, that area did get hammered by floods.

Most (legitimate) companies subject themselves to an annual financial audit conducted by an outside company. It can take some weeks to complete and things are often slowed down some while the audit is in progress.

great to hear...a certified letter is as good as gold when a business owes you money...once you create a dated paper trail its hard to beat regardless of what kind of mediation you end up in...

your patience is rewaarded with success...glad it worked out for you...

Rare thing to hear these days when all parties do the right thing! Should be good karma to all involved.
