Default Thoughts on replacing Depth finder with Fish Finder

I'm replacing a broken thru-hull Teleflex depth finder. I'm thinking about replacing it with a fish finder (garmin 300C) instead of another circle thru-hull depth finder. Thoughts? The price deifference between the two options is minimal. Thanks

Why have a single function unit when the small fish finders offer more for the same money. No brainer.

I use my fish finder mainly for a depth gauge. All fish finders lie!

Agreed. Go with the fishfinder. Depending on the model, some will also display speed and temp.

I've only got a fishfinder on my boat. My dad's boat came with the depth finder, and he added a multi-function gps/fishfinder. Never even look at the depthfinder anymore.
