Greetings All,
I'm itching to get back into a boat after a looong time w/o one. I live in the Washington, DC area, plan on fishing both tidal Potomac river and Chesapeake Bay. I used to own a bass boat and definitely want to pick that up again. I also want to be able to hit the Bay for blues and rockfish. My question is: What are the best options for a boat that will do both? I've looked at the Champion 22 Bay Champ that looks like a good match. Any others I should look at? THANKS!

Don't know what your budget is but my choice would be.an Albury Brothers. The ride is second to none. Well built boats that handle superbly. They make a 20' and a 23' that would handle your area with no problem. They are not the cheapest but you get a boat that will last a lifetime.

Some things you could add to help the crew here narrow down your search.
budget, draft concerns, number of guys fishing, speed needs, bow ok for trolling motor, gunnel heights.
There are tons of variables, but that should help make the suggestions more apt.

You can test a 21' Yellowfin in Ocean City this weekend with Yamaha, Captain George Mitchell and Captain Max King's Marine. We have a customer that has a 24' Bay Yellowfin off of Mobjack and loves it. 300 Merc on back. The 21 Hybrid has a 300 Yamaha.
Thanks,
Capt. Max King
