Default Whitewater Owners

I have searched the web and have not been able to locate to much information on prop/wheel configuration for whitewaters.

I have a 28' whitewater with twin 200hpdi's
Currently running:
Solas 3 blade 14x21
WOT is approximately 46mph at 5300rpm trimmed to the sky, med load. I just feel like I am missing something here.

Yes, I spoke with Norman, from WW, and he recommended turbo ultima VI 19 by precision propeller.

Yes, I have just recently started to pm "ken" from propgods.

I realize that there are a multitude of different engine configurations but thought it would be a good prop thread for WW.

What is everyone else running:
Engine/prop configuration/WOT

Yea, you don't have enough prop - you're way low on rpm's. Listen to Norm. But don't expect more speed with only 400 hp on that boat - you've got an economical boat, not a speed boat.

Billy, I know.
The guy you sold the boat to, JD, who sold the boat to me had these props on it. About a week later, after I had bought it, he emailed me and said "hey, I found the original props she came with, want to buy them". He did say this "The props are 14 1/4 x 19 not sure of the brand." Do you remember what props you were running or WOT?

First light

Agree with listening to Norm. Not looking for speed necessarily but it just feels like she is missing something. On a different note are you on Floridasportsman under the same name.

Anyone else running a WW?

At 5300 rpms you are lugging your engines throughout the rpm range, and that's a bad thing waiting to happen. The 19" pitch props tuna mentioned will be much closer to what you need - maybe he will trade? ;? And, yes.

I realize that, hence the search for new wheels. My name is "tradition" on FS, BPK.

Been doing pretty good fishing just east of you earlier in April, even snagged a couple of longfin tuna - very unusual for the Keys. Fished last Wednesday and Thursday and nearly got skunked. Bummer, with $5/gal gas.

Very cool on the longfin tuna.

I have some friends coming into town and I took off the entire next week to go kill some mahi, tuna, and grouper. If you have time off I have room. Sent you a pm.

I know there are other WW owners on here, guys what are you running.

Interesting, 3 blade, not 4.

Solas blades are super thick, they last forever, but hurt you in R's and speed.

Hmmm. I'm in Miami on Tuesday. maybe . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . but if you read the Grove Slam reports, those guys had the same crappy luck I did in the middle Keys last Wednesday and Thursday - and some of um ran & fished as far west as BPK!

You should be a low 50's boat with a pretty decent load. Need more prop. I have turbo ultima 4's 21's on my ww28 with f225's. Should be equal performance with the 200 hpdi. If looking for top end I might get 3 blades though.

If he got a good speed with normal 3 blade yam props why change? Norm? Why Does Norm build that stupid little step in the deck??????? What a great hull and boat with a tripping point built into it.

meii - sorry, I should not have brought fishing up in your thread.

Yea, these 2 guys were seriously lost, and likely swimming north looking for cooler water! I was working the cockpit in a friends boat (only 2 of us on board) and he's not totally familiar with his electronics - ie. the first day we were in 700-800 ft of water off of Marathon and he couldn't understand why he could not mark the bottom. Well, his sonar was still set on the factory default of 200 kHz. I changed that, but was too busy clearing weeds and doing other things to have time to put the water temp on the screen - so I can not answer your water temp question - but I understand why you are asking, and have no idea why these two fish were there. ;?

The guy didn't even have a Tuna Permit. But he does now, because I told him I wouldn't go out with him again unless he got one.

I have the 32 and also spoke with Norm about switching props... I have 19 3 blades now, he recommended the 4 blade turbo props... Im going to do some testing and see if it will be worth it, right now I've seen 42kts with the 225's but Im looking to get a little more fuel at cruise... hard to improve 1.6 at 38 though
