Default boat speed -- hull length vs motor hp

on average does anyone know what a 96 16ft capehorn would run wot with a 75hp merc?

or a 83 whaler 15 with a 75 merc?

trying to decide on what boat to get into.

I'm coming from a sea ray bowrider that went 48-52 and wanting a CC just not sure what the common rule of thumb is for engine size vs hull length/weight.

Thanks for any and all info I'm am new to outboards and CC boats.
