Default Fuel or motor problems?

I have a 2001 evinrude ficht motor. Ecu indicates it has roughly 800 hrs on it. Before the purchase of the boat i had a compression test done and ECU check. The comp. test showed 125-130psi across the board and ECU didnt indicate any problems with previous owner. The other day i was out trolling around and the port side motor just shut off. When trying to restart it, the motor would start for a second then sputter and shut off like it was starving for fuel. Also, it would only run at high RPMs while giving it gas. When throttled down to a neutral position the motor would shut off again. The primer ball was taking very long to reprime the line so I've been sucking the gas through to the primer ball and going from there. The pickup didnt have a screen and was clean. I replaced the fuel lines from the gas tank to the motor, inline fuel ball primer (facing right direction), and fuel filters. I didnt replace the fuel filter housing yet. There wasnt any water in the fuel when the fuel filter replaced. Im thinking its either air getting into the system somehow, a clog somewhere in the system, or a fuel pump problem. If there are any questions to clarify the situation please ask! Any input would be awesome!! I'm waiting for my evinrude guy to come out this wed to look at it. I just want to possibly have an idea of whats going on before he gets out there.
