Default Bottom Paint Removal

I took my 30' Donzi to several Shops to see about having the bottom paint removed. The bottom was very rough with the old bottom paint. Most shops wanted to sand and repaint, even though i told them i did not keep the boat in the water. One shop said they would soda Blast it and have to probably regelcoat. My boat had a Epoxy primer under the Bottom Paint and it took a lot of work to get it off.

Then i called a shop i had used before with great success. They use paint remover and strip the paint off. Then they sand the primer off, buff and repair gelcoat in the thin spots. Total $1500 and the hull looks like new. From 60mph to 70mph.....I think it was a good investment.

Most shops wanted the same price to sand and put on new bottom paint.

Call 727-422-2628 for the best looking bottom jobs!

Bottom paint chemically stripped away and gelcoat restored.
