i periodically removed my spin on 10 micron filter and dump the fuel in a container looking for water and junk. yes, i have a clear bowl on the bottom but its tough to see.....so no big deal i spin it off, add grease to the gasket and spin it back on.
today, i drained the fuel in a clear plastic container, it was clear, no water and only minor trash. i set the container on the dock to dump it later, since i was still messing' with boat.
an hour later the fuel was very cloudy, did the sun do it or exposure to air?
never noticed that before.

Probably dissolved the plastic. Be careful with what kind of container you put gas in you can end up with a dangerous mess of melted plastic and gas.
Use glass if you aren't sure.

The fuel has absorbed the moisture from the air and made the fuel 'cloudy' looking.
We clean tanks daily and during the testing phase we will experience this if left out in the air too long.

Notice how the gas goes from clear to cloudy by the end of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzFzYoxxA10
