Default What's your boat's name?

Guess I need to name mine, but creativity in naming ended after my fourth kid.

Maybe after seeing what your boats are named I'll come up with a good one.

"Dirty Oar"

Is it considered bad luck to name the next boat after a wrecked/totalled boat?

aiian - no idea, but I can't imagine God - Karma, whatever you Godless heathens here believe in - would punish you for sticking with one you know. I like the name. very cool.

Sorry about your boat, amigo. Best wishes.

Constancia, the Spanish version of my wife's name. Can't go wrong naming your boat after your wife, especially when two-footitis strikes up the road a bit!

My old aluminum 23' Baja Bayrunner was named the "Mackerelena." Kind of a fishy play on words because the song Macarena was very popular at the time. That silly song is still the ringtone on my cell phone! Always know when it's my phone that's ringing, though! Hahaha!

Try to make it personal and meaningful to you and your wife family. No need to copy other boat names.

You were able to name all 4 your children.....you can certainly come up with a name for your boat. Something will eventually come to you.

Make it a night out event (no kids). A nice meal over a couple of glasses of wine while talking about the family and possible boat names relating to personal events while on the boat. It could even eventually result in a 5th child

KEG Hauler.

My wife's name starts with a K, and my boys start with an E and a G. The only reason I bought the boat that I did was the fact that it was big enough for two small kids a wife and all of their crap.

Current boat (Albin 35 CB) -- OTTER -- because I like the playful, smart critters.I also like a name that is easy to say and spell over a VHF -- if you are making a slip reservation it is a real hassle to spell out a complicated double name based on a pun or on a mix of kids names.

Prior boat -- SLAPSHOT -- because all my kids played ice hockey, and I liked the image of a rough, hard, fast blast from a slapshot -- it goes well with a center console.

My first boat (many, many years ago) was a plush little IO runabout -- named it SAVOY TRUFFLE after one of my favorite Beatles songs.
