Question Who likes their T-Top Storage Bag???

I need to get a T-Top storage bag.

What kind do you all have and are you happy with it?

If you are happy, can you pass on the model of it?

Thanks!

I have a t-bag in my top and it works great.I think they offer two sizes and mine was the smaller one, able to keep 4 vests and other need items up and away but very easy acess when needed.

Is it a certain brand?

Yes, the name is T-Bag...don't laugh, all the teens in my neighborhood gets a kick out of it. You can kind of see it in my sig. pic.

I had mine for well over 5 years and still works great. I just have to wax the zippers at the start of the season. I have the smaller one and it hold 4 of the cheap life vest. It also has two small pockets with grommets that I use to keep my leader spools in. Thread the grommet and pull out the leader I need. Works great.

I have the T top bag made by Smith. It works well for storing 4 PFDs. It also has the Smith symbol on the front instead of T-Bag in squiggely writing.

I have two T Bags on my top. A mesh that stores my throwable with attached line and a solid holding 4 vests. I also keep my charts up there. IMO the straps they use should run from the across the bottom of the bag to support the weight better. Thankfully when my top was built it was done a little taller than normal.

I thought I read here that they went out of business.

Default bag

I got mine at west marine believe it is a Smith also. It holds 4 pfd. It did hang to low right above leaning post so I moved it to the front of the t-top it is perfect there.

Had mine made by a canvas shop. It is removeable after every trip so my top doesn't get corroded under the straps. It is large and holds 6 large Type 1 vests. Really shouldn't be offshore in the $5 Wal-Mart vests anyway. You will see why if you ever have to actually use them. Hint...they lose buoyancy almost immediately.

I would have a canvas shop make them to fit, you'll get more room. I had one done on the front and the back, when I had the top built.

I have had the larger T bag for several years and love it. No issues. I lube the zippers twice a year.

I have one made by Boatmates:

http://www.rivermarinesupply.com/xca...orage_Bag.html

http://cgi.ebay.com/Boatmates-Marine...item3a5a953dc9

http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com/...-Top_Stor.aspx

I did a search on this forum, and a lot of the folks were complaining about their t-bags fading and the zipper failing. No problems with the boatmates so far.

The smith bag has velcro, with no zipper. I like it much better.

Smith no longer has a bag on their website. Are they still made?

I bought one, but there are no installation instructions. Can you offer any advice?

I love the one on my Young but it was custom made by their canvas guy to fit the hardtop and be out of the way. It holds 4 life jackets very well.

Why not find a local canvas guy and have one made to fit?

I added a 6-Pk T-top bag as a safety precaution... in an emergency, will you actually have time to dig out PFDs for everyone from a storage locker?

Convenient location/access, just don't like ducking my head when I pass under the back end of the hardtop...

The custom made into the T Top is first class and nice but can get expensive. I have had a large T-Bag for 10 years and it has worked great. Lube the zippers....and make sure you can get into it in case you need to retrieve and life jackets....before you get on the water.

How much did you pay for a custom job like this?

I had a T-bag, (actually two)....both zippers failed...once it was mounted and in use, about 2 years later...tried to unzip and.....not a chance...rather see grommets and small line to secure the opening....
