Default I smell a scam.

Over 3 years ago I had a 2860 Pro Sports cat that I sold before I bought my current boat. I just received this email and it does seem like one of those scams. What should I do with this thing? Should I try to get them busted or what? Should I respond and tell them how excited I am to finally find a buyer? lol..

Hello ,
I am Mr Ian Lynn. i am contacting you regarding your boat sale ad Pro Sports/2860 Tournament Edition Cat, i am intrested in buying the boat at the requested price ,i hope its in a perfect condition i am willing to pay for the boat as soon as i have your reply,i need you to send me the total cost including shipping cost to canada port. Also send me your details because i will be issuing a check to you from my bank .Hope to read from you soon.have a good day.
Regards.
Ian Lynn.

Well, there's an extremely nice lady in Africa that writes me often.
Seems her father was assainated by the rebels and she wants to transfer a few million into my account because she understands I'm a "good Christian Gentleman". All I have to do is give her my banking information, pass word, and the like.
If she knew what she was doing, she'd also know that I'm in the boat business and my bank account is of very little use to her, S - - T, very little use to me either!

They send out thousands of those emails daily from some 'hell-hole' in Africa or somewhere paying people pennies a day to try to steal your money. Their time is cheaper than yours!!! IGNORE IT or send it to scams@fraudwatch.com (I think that's their email) but DO NOT RESPOND as they will sell your email address to more spammers...

Of course it is a scam and sorely there are so may of them it is very rarely investigated and people are arrested even less often especially when it is single issue.

However, as other have stated before it is entertaining to mess with these guys especially if it is to an Email address you don't care about. You can even create one just for messing with them tell them it is your confidential acount and you don' want your wife, the police your bosd Etc. to know about your good fortune and they will usually take thr bait hook line and sinker.
