The irony is that bleach is enviornmentally friendlier than Simple Green. Bleach is a self destructing cleaner. It quickly breaks down into salt and water. This is why you have to keep adding it to your pool (chlorine) which never becomes toxic.

I would rather see people using bleach than detergents. There is a bunch of info available on how un-friendly Simple Green is but it does work well.
