Default Yellowfin Owners: 34 vs 36

Well, the time has come, and I'm moving up. Looking at both late model YF 34 and 36 -- any owner's out there familiar with the overall differences (other than the obvious length with respect to economy, ride, handling, etc.

Thanks!

The 34' will be slightly faster and slightly better fuel burn, as far as the ride I have been told there is a difference there also. From someone who has rode both he said "the 36' is just a cadillac." Im sure the 42' is even better, obviously. The quality of YF's boats is just unmatched by any other manufacture, all you have to do is take a look at the YF thread in the Miami boat show section. Their customer service was also excellent. Tripples are not a must but I would recomend them unless you step down to the 32'

I'm still debating, but I'm leaning towards selling it. ~300 hrs, 200 hpdi, garmin 4210 10" furuno sounder, runs great.. just serviced.. Was considering keeping it for crab island, but I'll take offers.

Best,
xyzzy.

We love our 36.....we talked about the 34 for about 10 minutes...first thing that we said was "we will always wish we had the 36". In the end both great boats, you can't go wrong with either.

there is a thread on THT that compares the 34 v 36

actually, there are def a few of them

I had a 34 and now have a 36. very similar in many ways. 2 extra feet give you a bit of a better ride in big seas.

tunatango has a 34 for sale (privately) on this site. Ive seen the boat up close and it is RIGGED!

Good luck

Either boat you will be a great choice. We love our 34; could not be happier.

Congratulations.

Just buy that 34' that bluewaterpromo has for sale...the one 24/7 has shown. As long as that boat remains up for grabs I will continue to thing that I may have a shot at getting it.

2009 boat, motor, trailer pricing:
32' w/ twin 300 vs $160K
34' w/ trip 300 vs $205K
36' w/ trip 300 vs $221K

That bluewaterpromo YF w/ all the add ons is the best deal for a YF.

I have the transom door and I just step over it! The new model 36' has a sliding transom door instead of a swinging door.
