Default Just removed THT from my home pages tabs

Well I thought I could just wait it out for the new improved equipment to work the bugs out, but I couldn't. As an ex IT guy, I can't stand it any more. Worse performance, crappier interface. I just killed the homepage tab for THT from my IE. I might check in now and again, but Internet Brands or whatever fucked up a really good site. Now I'm just looking for wherever everyone lands next.

We need a new site. Thanks to IB there is a HUGE hole and therefore a gigantic opportunity to start a new THT, a new "Largest Boating community" on the internet!

I sure wish Wiley was able to go it again!

Well...bye.

I guess I just don't see where all the complaints are justified. It's a little slower to post a thread, but that is tunable, and I'm sure it will be.

What a bunch of whiners.

I' m with Joe. LuckySkiff, you claim to be an IT guy. Well, I claim to be a business owner who over the years has employed all kinds of IT guys, both employees and contract/freelance. If I had bounced every IT guy who in the first 24 hours of delivering his new software, server reconfiguration, whatever, for not delivering 100% on all his promises RIGHT EFFFING NOW I would never have had an IT guy around for more than a week or so.

I'd tell you to have a little patience, but you of all guys should know that. Sheesh!

(As a sidelight, maybe better check your configs, setup, etc. After all kinds of bouncing around, this evening my performance is better in a number of areas, about the same in some, and worse only (maybe) in Private Mail. I say "maybe" because I'm still on the learning curve there, so probably slowness due mostly to operator error.)

Alex,
Patience, my friend. Besides, you are young, this should be a piece of cake to you. Different? Yes. What you're used to? No. Deal with it!

Allright guys. I guess i am taking this whole "change" thing a bit to seriously. Tomorrow you guys should see some pics of some work on the boat.

Be sure to check the thread out.

KPS I agree and I have NEVER seen 2 IT techs agree on a thing. They are worse the 3 two year olds in the play room with only 1 toy. I can just see IB-Dick sitting in a room with his IT people hacking out what, where and how they will make this better, Then they try it and it makes it worse so back to the room with the soft walls. But at least they are doing something.

LuckySkiff, if you don't know by now that vBulletin is probably one one of the top tier forum based COTS products out there, that might explain the EX in your post. There are many, many, many users of vBulletin and the folks here just need to work some of the kinks out. This is a far superior product (and more scaleable) than the old ASP crap the old forum was based on. Keep the IT for those of us that actually understand it.

Oh and by the way... nice language.
