For 14 or whatever hours in, I'd say "good work" thus far. V-b just isn't pretty software, as any web nut will tell you, and it's never going to be, but I take it it's here to stay. To a great extent for me, the increased power offsets the lack of beauty.

One suggestion (made by someone else in another thread,) post daily or as often as needed a "progress or lack thereof" splash screen for each time anyone returns to the site giving an update on where we are, what's still being worked on, etc.

If we'd done this starting last night (where it could have been noted that x, y and z were known issues and being worked on and that all users needed to review their options settings, etc., lots of posts to mods and general bitching could have been eliminated (well, at least reduced. People love to bitch.)

Personal request: is there any way to recreate the "search my threads" feature? I used it a lot, as did lots of others, to keep track of threads of interest. I know that use of the thread subscription feature can make up for this somewhat, but certainly more cumbersome.

Attachments viewed in the post, not a click away. See one of the Miami Boat Show threads to see why this is a big pain.

The following issues have been resolved so far:
  • Signatures are viewable by all users
  • Images are viewable by all users
  • PM issues should be resolved
  • Font size changed to what the old site used
  • The background color behind the font has been changed to what the old site used
  • Smilies returned to normal
  • Quick reply have been fixed
  • Everyone should see the Enhanced (WYSIWYG) Editor when posting now

A slightly larger font size and a little more contrast between text and background would be greatly appreciated by us members of the greybeard generation. {EDIT - Looks like you might have already solved that one...}

Definitely appreciate the WYSIWYG formatting; never cared for the <??> stuff.....

Agree that more emoticons are needed. I know another board that uses the same software, and they've got over 300 of 'em.

Negative... I still have to click on each and every file name in the Miami Boat Show threads to see the pictures.

A BIG for the other modifications; it's getting there.

Can you post a link to a thread for us to look at? We will investigate ASAP.

Don't know what the techs exposure is to other sites, but check out.....

//2coolfishing .com and w.sportfishermen .com for some background contrast colors that seem to work well. While your at it steal SF's library of smilies and the "fishy" reply and quote buttons.

So far, so good

Scroll down a bit for a few attached pix

This post brings up another issue. The "Best pic your boat" above is a link and with the color scheme, it isn't very obvious...

I can see the pics in "Best pic of your boat" but NOT in any thread of the Miami Boat show forum. Please don't let Ludi's work go to waste.

RSS is enabled according to FAQs but I cannot view posted messages in my google homepage. It will not embed as previous version did. Anything I'm doing wrong?

I think Ads within people's posts are pretty distracting and cheap looking - might look into moving them elsewhere.
Agreed, for now it's distracting and makes me want to add names to my "do not call list."

Posting replys like the one above still takes a long time,
Some pages also load very slowly.
Font is still too small.
Other changes are coming along.

I actually like the format and fonts, and performance seems the same, however NO thread pictures (EDIT - Some pics are showing up, some are not, even some posts from today show as a list of icons) show even though I have inline images enabled in my CP. The worst problem for me is that I seem to not get logged in by opening the THT window now - I have to relog if I visit another page.
