Default Word on 33' Wellcraft

Quite a few late model boats at attractive prices, especially considering they are diesels. They compare in price to similar aged pursuit and Grady outboard models. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the ride, speed and economy numbers (later models with the Volvo D-6's). Most of the owners of the 29' give favorable reviews - what about this 33' model.

I like the 33 Coastals also and the prices have come down a good bit, just like on most used boats though. The main thing that I have read about them is they ride bow high until you put the tabs down some.

I REALLY like the 36 Coastals now. Especially the ones with the 540 Cummins.

my boat (similar hull) rides bown high until I hit 3200+rpm or adjust the tabs. My buddy owns a 33 coastal with merc 454s, kinda of a small cockpit, but good overall boat. Runs 20-24 knots with gassers

2 issues. Popoising, and no mid-berth. Other than that, sold a bunch of them, unchanged over the years. That should say something...tabs will take care of porpoising.

Spent many hours fishing on a buddy's 33 coastal with the Volvo's. I think he was in the low to mid 30 gallon an hour cruise until he added a tower. It now burns in the low to mid 40's which is too thirsty for my pocketbook. Ride is pretty decent but as mentioned it is bow high. Great cockpit to fish in and good dockside appeal.

He is sick over the decline in value, so yes there are some great values to be had.
