Default Thru Hull Help Please...

Ok, time to replace my cheap plastic thru hull fittings. I trailer my boat and they are all above the water line. Well, 1 is right on the line but...

I went to Worst Marine and Boaters World and they didn't have anything close to the size I was looking for so now I have to get them on-line. My question is, how do they measure these things? The current one i'm holding in my hand is:

Hole in Boat = 1.75"
Mushroom Head = 2.5"
Hose fitting = 1"
Current Thread = 1.50"
Total length = 4"

So when I go on-line the say like 2" or 1.5" Thru Hull Fitting. Most don't say the other dimentions? How do I know what I need????

I want to replace them with Marelon.

We found ours at West Marine and brought an old one with us. I want to say that they were classified by hose fitting but it's been a couple of years so I don't remember exactly.

Good luck! Thru hulls can be a nightmare job. Just take your time and hopefully you'll have a partner to help as it was easier with one guy working outside and one inside on some of them.

I did bring on in with me but still no good. The only good part about this is I have pretty good access to the inside of the fittlings and hoses/

Remeber you get what you pay for, go with bronze or Marelon. The regular old cheap white ones start degrading as soon as they are installed. U.V. light breaks them down over time.
