Default Carolina Classic 28

Volvo penta finally blew (water intrusion) want to repower with Crusader 6.0's or 8.1's . Boat is located in Ocean Isle Beach N.C. Can anyone give me some names of good Mechanics in this area capable of this job and also revising exhaust . Would the volvo outdrives and jackshaft still work with this conversion .

Probably have to change props due to different RPM then.

Contact Layton Boatworks they work closely with CC and do many CC re-powers. Their reputation is top notch.

I think the factory does repowers. Call Keith or Mac they are very helpful. I would go with 8.1 crusaders.

I think Sleeper has it right. I believe the factory contracts their repowers out to Layton's. But ask on the CarolIna Classic Boatowners Site. There are a few CC dealers and/or CC dealer's mechanics who post on their and they might give you some additional advice.

You are correct. If you call the factory they are sending you to Layton's anyway. They also paint all of the CC colored hulls for Carolina Classic, do their electronic installs etc. It's like one big happy family.

Pretty sure gears for the 6.0's are different from the 7.4 or 8.1's. The 6.0's rev high. Be sure to ask.
