Default BOE Marine...not real impressed on first order

I placed an order for two parts from BOE Marine. However my experience with them has been very disappointing to date. Both items were not listed as being out-of-stock or backorderd, either on the product description or once the order was placed. I paid for 1-5 days shipping however I have still not received the product. When I went to the BOE website and logged into my account I discovered that both items are backorderd. I called the number listed on the website and both times got a voicemail telling me someone would call back..to date not a return call. I also emailed yesterday to their support email address asking when my order would be shipped, again no response. I only ordered from these guys because I believed the they had the items in stock and did not indicate otherwise. Even the email receipt that was sent to me did not indicate a back-order. I feel duped into ordering from them. Just wonder what other on THT have experience with BOE. As far as i am concerned it will be my last time ordering from them....and If I don't get a response by tomorrow I will cancel the order.

I hesitate to speak bad of a business, since I am in business and I know sh*t happens but I feel BOE is misleading customers when they take an order for a product they know is not in stock and don't provide any customer service. I sourced the same item at a couple of other suppliers and two clearly indicate the product is out-of-stock. The other's had it in stock but I ordered from BOE since i have seen them advertised on THT...

I have always found them very helpful and responsive. I however prefer to pick up the phone when I have concerns or a problem so that I do not have to wait for an answer. I would suggest you try to call them again.

I have always had good service from Jim and BOE. But things can and will happen. I hope you get it worked out.

Jim is a very stand up guy and has a great reputation here and other places on the web. While I understand your frustration, it may require a little patience as I know he is probably setting up for a big boat show here this weekend. http://www.usboat.com/bay_bridge_boat_show.html I know he will have several lines of boats displayed including the Black Lab and Bristol Harbor so he may have been tied up a bit.

Jim and the other people at BOE are very nice people. But I too had a problem getting a return call both times I wanted to order from them. The first time I had to PM Jim to get it done and the second time I just called Three Rivers Marine Electronics, got someone immediatly, had what I wanted at my door in less the 48 hours. Done deal.

Wow, I've ordered a few things from Jim over the years and have always received A1 service.
$16 GPS whip antenna, no shipping charge, delivered to my front door in less than 24 hours.
I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation, the guy has a great reputation.

Please provide me with your name. We offer multiple ways of getting in touch with us and I literally stay until 9PM at night sometimes until all calls are returned. Is it possible VM did not work on your end? We do not list inventory on our site and customers are informed if an item is out of stock. We have been setting up for a boat show this week, and are at the show now. One of the many benefits of our company is you can call and actually speak to a knowledgeable person. We don't have an indian call center though so if nobody is available to speak to you right away we do call back. If you are not available on the other end when we call back we leave a VM. Our customer service is run in a visible fashion on sites like this so we are sure to stay on top of it. I will gladly post the resolution to the failure in this thread once you let me know who you are. When ordering online from anybody it is always best to call to confirm availability as inventory turnover happens very quickly and even sites that do show inventory are pnly updated once a day. I am sorry you are not happy and I will be happy to speak with you to resolve this. You can email me at jim@boemarine.com or call me on my cell 410-212-2258. I can't do any better than that.

Ahhh..figured out who you are. Your order came in via the paypal payment option so we are not privy to your phone number when that was the case. Most of the time we take the time to call customers when something is not available typically on the same day its ordered. If the phone doesn't work we will go to email. In your case we went straight to email because we did not have your phone number. When emailing a customer we simply hit a button to email as that is how the software works so we never actually look at the email address. Now digging into your order I see you are a comcast.com user. We have been through 3 email servers (jaguarpc, edthosting, successfulhosting) trying to find one that works to comcast email addresses and have had no luck. When i know somebody is on comcast the only way I can get to them is through my personal gmail.com account. Go to www.comcastblacklist.com to see all the emails you might be missing, it is a common thing how they will block off whole hosting environments from sending emails. That explains why you did not get the initial email about inventory and the email reply to your question. We simply can't send to comcast. i think some go through as I know we have some comcast customers but the majority do not. As far as your VM's not being answered...well I have no idea about that. As far as VM's left up until yesterday all have been replied to and if any are left today our limited office staff are probably crunching through them now. Of course you would never know the emails are not making it through to you, but now that you know please just call for a practically immediate resolution, the kind of service we are known for.

Look up "Step up" in the dictionary.

There's a picture of BOE Marine there.

He has screwed up my calendar by doing the same thing...sending stuff too quickly to the house. In one instance my wife saw what I purchased....I normally like to keep this stuff out of her line of sight to prevent a retaliation purchase.

I have also had the call logs checked, there was a call at 9:24 this morning with a VM but you did not say who you were or why you were calling, and another call at 1:23 today with no VM. I did just receive your email and have replied from my gmail account. you are certainly welcome to post my email to you, I want every body here to know we have done our best with this situation as I do not take an unhappy customer lightly.

I've got to say I extremely pleased with my first transaction with BOE.

I started emailing questions a couple months ago and all have been answered. I finally placed my order last friday for six products and received an email stating that one of the products is back ordered. I received everything else on tuesday and have all installed already.
I emailed them today to ask the status on the back ordered product and received a prompt reply.

No complaints here.

Thanks Jim!

Hey Guys....BOE has been great...just needed to get the boss involved. I stand corrected and feel like a real horse's ass, which my wife will agree with. As I initially stated, I hesitate to complain about a business and probably should have waited another day or two.....

Jim has always got back to me asap. On the Phone, PM or E-mail. In fact I did not even order from him and he got back to me fast with some answers to my questions.
