Default Boycott of A1 Outboard initiated by THT members due to unfair practices

How about that?

THT member Propbender will indicate when he receives his motor crates back from said THT vendor. The purpose of this boycott is to show Internet Brands that THT members are the reason for its continued success and that THT members will not be taken advantage of, or bullied by THT sponsors.

If you support the premise of this thread, then make it known here. Get the post count up and it will achieve its intended goal.

Lets see if we get the boot, or if A1 gets the boot, or if the situation gets rectified due to member pressure, then we will know where we stand.

Let's see how long freedom of speech lasts on a site that is profit driven by advertisers. This will be the true test of the new ownership.

There is no freedom of speech on this site. BUT, if the site ownership and management decides to allow vendors and manufacturers to dictate content; then this is no longer THE HULL TRUTH. If Internet Brands plans to go that route, then they should have enough spinal structure to clearly state as much so that those of us who are doing the clicking here (that's where the real money comes from), will no longer waste our time because we are thinking that all sides of every product argument will get equal time.

What was or is the beef? There are always two sides of a story. The first posting of any problem should still be here so everbody can make there own mine up as to what was going down. Now if IB is one siding, then this site will die.

So, a vendor pays them some money and it's the equivalent of buying off a crooked politician.

One thing we can do is whenever we see the A1 name come up anywhere else on the other forums ( yes, there are actual forums out there instead of this infomercial) mention the problems with them here. Its not much, but it's better than nothing.

The only thing they have to do is just ban ALL THT Members from THT. There, that'll fix it. Only 10 minutes of their day involved too.

I think I'm already in their crosshairs. About three weeks ago, I went to log-on and got a message that I was banned from the system. Sent an email to them, asking why. Never got an explanation, but I was able to get back in.

Nothing to add, except to say that I fully support your efforts. If I get the sense that censorship is the MO here, THT is gone from my bookmarks in a heartbeat. Goodwill treads a very fine line, especially on the internet.

I don't know what the issue is with A-1 outboard is but in A-1's defense,I do know this;I had a good experience with them. Always friendly, accommodating & professional over both the phone & internet. A-1 literally went out of their way to accomodate me (by 100 miles or so ;they detoured way off of the interstate to pick up a set of outboards I sold).

I hadn't paid any attention to the original thread since posting on it. http://www.thehulltruth.com/forums/t...asp?tid=179823 I posted my one experience with Blackbird and besides a track back from my profile there is no trace of my original post. I bought I drive through a local dealer in WV built by Blackbird it blew out within a year and I got no help with the replacement. This was basically what was in my original post and I considered it relevant then and I do now. That said prop bender and A1 obviously don't see eye to eye. But if the owners of this forum now chose to censor relevant info all is lost.

Yes it may well have been Blackburn. I stand corrected and that would have been a better response than the censorship in the original post.

I do have a powerhead I am about ready to rebuild. I will not go to you because of your posts here. Not the accusations but your replies. On the flip side, Eds Marine has been on the recieving end of much attack. However, because how they have handled themselves on this forum, I would go to them (for a new outboard or a boat). By the way, nobody is destroying your life and/or business here but yourself. In every response you are representing your business to thousands of people. If you can't respond to criticism, false or true, then maybe you shouldn't enter the public forums. You never responded to why you have had posts deleted.

Douchebag posts like this have done far more to kill this forum than the new owners.

Bravo!
