Default "As Is"

Went to launch one morning and there was an old junky MFG on the dock for the ramp. The engine cowling was off and two fat dudes were staring blankly at the engine. Eventually launched around them but caught the name on the transom as we were pulling away.... "As Is". Seemed appropriate.

Default Saw a couple of good ones this week on the ICW

On a flats boat: In The Bluff

On a big cruiser: The Main Office
(Presumably, so his/her secretary can tell any callers that the owner isn't available because they're "at the Main Office today...")

One of our old time local politicians here called his boat "The Electorate" for same reason as one post just earlier. His secretary would say to callers when he was out fishing Instead of working:

"Sorry, Tom is out in the electorate, he will call you when he gets back".

Another friend of mine has one of those unusual small businesses - he has a truck with a large tank on the back and a pump with a long extractor hose, and travels around to building sites emptying and cleaning out the portable toilets you see on construction sites. Makes really good money, as you would doing a dirty job like that!

When he got his last boat, we wanted him to call it:

"Sh#t Pays"

But he wouldn't let us. No sense of humor, some people!

Another friend has a penchant for visiting Thailand, where, shall we say, he enjoys the local delicacies.

His boat is called "Flash". When he's away next time, we are going to sneak into his boat shed and remove the first 2 letters and replace them with an "R".

Cheers from Downunder!

Had a Duranautic 12' aluminum boat with a 6 hp evinrude I bought used for cheap. I lettered with stick on letters from the hardware store. Named it "cheap thrills". That was a great boat. Wish I still had it.
