This will be really important to people who have the "My boat will be faster than your boat" mentality.

Had my hands on the Yamaha V8 350 HP brochure the other day, due out July according to the dealer. He wouldn't let me keep it, it was "his" copy, but nonetheless, they are coming. He claims that it will be standard power on the Regulator 32. Should be interesting to see how far the manufacturers can push the 4 stroke design before one of the players suffers a FICHT, HPDI, OPTIBOMB type of scenario.

Hell, I thought Glen was the head of Merc's engineering department. Now he has his cheerleader skirt and rah rah shoes on wearing a sweater with a big M on it! Guess he took over the marketing department as well.

jethro doing an impersonation of glen e:

Give me an M
Give me an E
Give me an R
Give me a C
Give me a U
Give me an R
Give me a Y

Now what's that spell? All together now, MERCURY.

His new motto is "VD". (Verado Dominates)

Rough Crowd. Thanks for sharing Glen. I guess it is true since the F350 is technically not on the water yet. I hear most of them fly....

Who cares Glen??

If it produces 320hp why don't your idols at Mercury call it a 320 instead?

First Light - 6/7/2007 6:51 PM Hmmm. Trying to add a jpeg, but cannot find the "add a picture after the post" box to check. Can we not add a picture to our posts anymore, or am I missing something?
Doesn't seem to be consistent, sometimes it's there and other times it's not.

You can just paste the link to the pic in photobucket, or whatever your using, into your message.

If they can get 305hp out of the 300 on 87 octane, I'm assuming that the 275 will now put out 275 on 87 octance as well? Is that a reasonable assumption?

My neighborhood now has three boats with triple engine outboards. Everyone one else just looks and says what for?????? Triple trouble, triple maintenance, triple headache?

Enough is never enough for some people. Doesn't matter how big the HP or how much the gas costs, some people will have to have it and as many as they can fit on a transom. That's why Mercury and the rest will build them.

When the otters come, there will be no stopping them. No mercy, no compassion, no release: Just wanton destruction. We hope humanity enjoyed its brief reign.

There really is an advantage to trips (not quads) - if you are 100 miles form home and one engine conks out - you can still get home at 30 mph vs 13..that could be the diff between skirting a T-storm or not....

In reviewing this thread, it really did stir up the hornets and the anti-glen group did'nt it?...ahh ya gotta love cyberspace....

Glen,

You triple vs. quads analogy reminds me of an old statistics problem.

Which is safer a plane with four engines or one with three (two on wings and 1 at the tail). Given the probability of engine failure, the plane with 3 engines has a better change of staying in the air.

Even with this in mind, Airforce 1 is still a 747 with four engine two on each wing. I guess bigger is better in the eye's of the Presidents plane.

Ian.

I'm certainly not anti-Glen, but the Mercury/Verado cheerleading is getting ridiculous. Then before anyone can respond we're called "anal jerks&quot What's with that Glen?
