Default What boat covers are best for T-Top boats?

I am looking for a good boat cover for my new 2007 sea hunt 207 triton center console with a T-Top. I've see the kind that covers over the T-Top as well as the kind that clips just under the T-Top. Which kind is better? any suggestions on where to get them from?

Thanks

Al

I've a got a 202 Sea Hunt with a t-top, and bought a cover from these folks:

www.ttopcovers.com

Contrary to their name, the cover does not cover teh T-Top They are local for me, but they do quite a bit of internet business as well. Very fast, good quality, guaranteed for 3 years. Mine was $900.

I had a custom cover made of sunbrella. It was pricey at $1400. It is in two pieces. Each part clips under T-top to the frame with fastex straps. The 2 pieces then zip together. The advantages I see to this are the two pieces are much easier to handle than one large cover. It is easy to take the cover on and off, and I use it a lot when we are at different places just to keep tree debris, etc. out. The main disadvantage is this kind of cover has less slope, and it requires a prop pole in back to ensure water runs off. I've had some problems with the pole falling over and water collecting in the back part, but I think I've got that taken care of now. The over the T-top style should not have any problem with that. But it would be a huge piece of fabric and I think to keep costs affordable most are made of a lesser material than Sunbrella. I would imagine that style would be more of a hassle to put on because of working around antennas, lights, and outriggers. So I think the over the top cover is probably the best long term storage cover, and the clip under is best for traveling or shorter term storage where you take it off and on a lot.

I have a custom 2 piece like above post with fast clips and zippers . Its a mooring cover with wieghts and came with boat -it cost a couple boat bucks I'm sure for my 23 whaler outrage. Its sunbrella and very well custom made. Two piece is the way to go. Parachutes are for skydivers. Mark

I bought the one that goes over the T-top from boat covers direct. You can see picts of it on the seahunt owner site. I paid something like 550 for it. It shipped out the next day and was on my doorstep 2 days later. It fits just fine but a little difficult getting it over the t-top by myself. Already damaged one of the zippers by snagging one of the antennas. If I was more careful with it, I am sure it would last me much longer.

Did you end up getting a new truck too?

Just bought and received a boat cover from Boatcoversdirect. It fits very well considering it is a generic fit. I have a 20' CC with a T-top. The material and labor warranty is for 5 years. It fits very well over my T-top and they include 2 small struts to fit into my T-Top rod holders to protect the top. It also came with tie down straps that are adjustable and very long to strap the top to the trailer. They also included extra material to reinforce the areas on the cover where extra stress may be placed on the top for instance over the outriggers or antennas. I was going to buy a custom top but the price was prohibited and also the warranties for material at best was 3 years on sunbrella.

I was skeptical at first but am very happy with my selection. PM me and I'll send photos.

I have one from ttop covers. It hangs under and allows air in. It takes about 5 minutes to put it on by myself.

I'm interested in your cover for my Sailfish 270CC with windlass (not through the hull) and twin Yamahas. My concern is mainly the price, and the fact that there is no way to get OUT of the boat. Your video shows the guy climbing over the side. My gunwales are 8ft in the air and the fenders for the trailer are under th boat. Not a chance I'm climbing out the side. I have to climb in and out using the swim ladder in the back port side next to the motors. What are your thoughts on that?

A word of caution: I have a 21' CC and have a one piece Carver boat cover. After just having replaced my T-Top cover at the beginning of last year with a Sunbrella top, I found upon opening the boat this spring that the movement of the cover on the T-Top had worn holes in the top! So now I'm getting a second T-Top made, and this time I'll be changing how I cover the boat so this doesn't happen again. T-Top Fabric Wear after one season

Stay away from RNR marine. They will not stand behind there guaranty. If they send you a cover that doesn't fit you can't send it back.Poor customer service. You cannot contact them by phone. There prices are high compared to something you can have made at a local canvas shop.
