Default Rupp Z30 to Gemlux bluewater

Has anybody swapped out their rupp Z30 bases for Gemlux bluewater bases?

im thinking about making the swap, just curious how involved the project is going to be. Middle of fishing season, but climbing on the gunnels to raise and lower as a double amputee is a safety concern.

Very straight-forward. Unbolt the Rupp’s and bolt in the GemLux’s. Make sure to order a backing plate. If you don’t want to spend big $$$$ on their Bluewater bases, look into the Gemlux Deluxe bases. They’re about half the price of the Bluewaters.

I’m running 22’ Marsh tacky. Do you think the deluxe will hold up to that?

No, the Deluxe bases are only rated for up to an 18' pole. You would need the Bluewater base for 22 footers.
